March 12th, 2020

Like everyone else, we’re following the Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation in NYC and around the world very closely. We have decided to postpone Monday evening’s production of The 24 Hour Plays: Live Podcast at WNYC’s The Greene Space. (Already have your ticket? Scroll down for refund information.)

It has always been our mission to bring creative communities together to create new plays and musicals in 24 hours. But on days like today, we have to acknowledge that bringing our community of artists and audiences together is not in our best interest due to growing health concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Over the past few months, our staff has been hard at work to bring you an entirely new way to enjoy our lightning-in-a-bottle performances with The 24 Hour Plays: Live Podcast. Although we wish that we could confidently invite you to be with us on Monday evening, we hope you’ll join us at a later date once we have rescheduled the event.

We are very grateful to the team at The Greene Space, to our board of directors, staff, participants, and all of you for your continued support.

Our decision here felt right for our organization at this time. Like everyone else, we are learning as we go and trying to both prioritize public health and retain a concern for the fragile economy of the theater’s ecosystem. If you’d like to know how you can support a small arts organization like ours, visit our support page.

Best wishes,

Mark Armstrong
Artistic Director, The 24 Hour Plays

Friends:

The 24 Hour Plays is closely monitoring the coronavirus (Covid-19) situation in NYC and around the world. As of today, our office will remain open and our events will continue as planned, including The 24 Hour Plays: Live Podcast on Monday, March 16th at The Greene Space at WNYC.

We’ve increased our daily office cleaning procedures and we’re following The New School’s policy for building operations for our small office inside their Bank St. building.

For Monday’s event, we’re working closely with The Greene Space (TGS) staff to support the wellbeing of our audience members. In addition to the regular cleaning procedures at TGS, they have established the following preventative measures:

  • As of this week, all of the products used to clean all of TGS spaces are on the EPA’s list of approved disinfectants for coronavirus.
  • To supplement usual cleaning, TGS has increased hours for maintenance staff who are sanitizing all shared and high traffic areas every hour including the lobby, doorknobs and handles, etc. and cleaning restrooms every two hours.
  • TGS has added hand sanitizers in the lobby as well as backstage for use by staff and patrons.
  • TGS staff is committed to keeping their hands clean and sanitary and has been instructed to stay home if they are not feeling well.
  • For more, read here

If you have a ticket to The 24 Hour Plays: Live Podcast and you’re not feeling well, we encourage you to stay home. TGS will fully refund or exchange your ticket for a future event. To do so, you can email OvationTix Customer Services at customerservice@ovationtix.com or call them at (866) 811-4111.

As always, we are dedicated to bringing together artistic communities to create new plays and musicals.

Best wishes,

Mark Armstrong
